Statutory Instrument No 894, The Hazardous Waste (England & Wales) Regulations 2005 came into force on July 16th 2005 and replaced the Special Waste Regulations 1996.

The new regulations significantly broadened the range of wastes designated hazardous, required companies to register with the Environment Agency if they produce hazardous waste (a process called Premises Notification) and for the first time allowed for a fixed penalty fine to be served by the Agency for non-compliance.

BeCompliant.co.uk has free, member and subscriber content specifically designed to walk the user through the regulations in simplified form, to advise compliance methodologies and to provide a one-stop waste legislation resource.

The core of the site is a database system which creates a users waste management system. It also includes the ability to produce consignment notes by populating the majority of the data from pre defined drop down menus, helping to make your waste disposal process easier.

This system provides a structure, which if followed, will help ensure your organisations compliance and mitigate the risks of fines, prosecution and environmental damage.
